David Mace

Executive Chairman

Developer of the reefLIVE brand and vision, and founder of SEA LIFE Centres, he has over 40 years' experience in marine life attractions and leads the reefLIVE team. A graduate Marine Biologist, his extensive experience developing and managing public aquarium includes building and opening the first SEA LIFE centre, then overseeing Sea Life’s and subsequently, Vardon Attraction’s expansion into Europe, growing it into a profitable portfolio of 25 attractions with c 550 employees. His subsequent experience includes as a Non-Executive Director of Center Parcs, GoApe and Haulfryn and Trustee of Jersey Zoo.

Keith Thomas

Managing Director

A highly experienced and respected leisure sector professional, working internationally as an operator and developer of Experience Economy projects and as a consultant to clients internationally. A graduate Biologist, he worked with David during the growth of SEA LIFE, operating aquariums and then managing their development and roll out across Europe as Development Director. In 2003, he co-founded leisure business consultancy Petersham Group and has led consulting projects around the world, ranging from theme parks to museums, science centres to resorts, and, of course, aquariums.

Joe Lavery

Head of Development

Highly experienced in the design and development of aquarium projects from concept to construction, in animal management including species selection, animal sourcing, transportation, Zoo licensing and veterinary management. His expertise in aquarium set-up, launch, and operation is highly valued. A graduate Marine Biologist, he has worked in senior positions worldwide for Merlin Entertainments’ SEA LIFE brand, as well as a serving Non-Executive Director of the National Marine Aquarium and a consultant to new Eden Project schemes and several UK aquaria.
